notebooks\u00a0\u00a0 <em>The Collected\u00a0\u00a0 The Selected<\/em><\/p>\n<p>myriad voices\u00a0\u00a0 who sing me\u00a0\u00a0 into my self<\/p>\n<p>I suddenly hear\u00a0\u00a0 Her holler\u00a0\u00a0 <strong><em>She WHO<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>She\u00a0\u00a0 she She\u00a0\u00a0 she She \u00a0\u00a0she WHO?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>How could I forget\u00a0\u00a0 What a wallop She packs<\/p>\n<p>howls\u00a0\u00a0 hoots\u00a0\u00a0 questions\u00a0\u00a0 answers<\/p>\n<p>a Goddess of breath\u00a0\u00a0 of high desert wind<\/p>\n<p>wind off the lake\u00a0\u00a0 wind on the mountain<\/p>\n<p>blows off\u00a0\u00a0 the top of my head\u00a0\u00a0 I\u2019m hanging on<\/p>\n<p>to the tail of a tiger\u00a0\u00a0 whipping me back<\/p>\n<p>to that twenty something\u00a0\u00a0 I was<\/p>\n<p>when I stood on a stage with you \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Judy<\/p>\n<p>howling\u00a0\u00a0 hooting\u00a0\u00a0 asking\u00a0\u00a0 answering<\/p>\n<p>It was Berkeley\u00a0\u00a0 1972<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019d all suddenly remembered\u00a0\u00a0 the one we forgot<\/p>\n<p>who cradled us\u00a0\u00a0 though we denied Her<\/p>\n<p>for we had not yet grasped\u00a0\u00a0 that small clay goddess<\/p>\n<p>from Willendorf\u00a0\u00a0 who fits\u00a0\u00a0 in a woman\u2019s hand<\/p>\n<p>You conjured Her\u00a0\u00a0 Judy<\/p>\n<p><em>She Who turns things over<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The earth opened\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0It was our period<\/p>\n<p>We raised our fists\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0We wanted the moon<\/p>\n<p>and the moon wanted us<\/p>\n<p>Everything changed\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nothing changed<\/p>\n<p>What happened\u00a0\u00a0 to that radiant glimpse<\/p>\n<p>did She slip\u00a0\u00a0 out of our grasp\u00a0\u00a0 like a waning moon<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>while Big Oil drilled down deep<\/p>\n<p>because power is power<\/p>\n<p>because nothing is sacred<\/p>\n<p>when all that counts\u00a0\u00a0 is speed\u00a0\u00a0 is greed<\/p>\n<p>yet each of us\u00a0\u00a0 still goddess bound<\/p>\n<p>made the descent\u00a0\u00a0 down\u00a0\u00a0 below down\u00a0\u00a0 into menstrual mind<\/p>\n<p>Me\u00a0\u00a0 tracking our mothers\u2019\u00a0 mothers\u2019\u00a0 mothers<\/p>\n<p>into the forbidden\u00a0\u00a0 where <em>She Who<\/em> reigns<\/p>\n<p>You\u00a0\u00a0 riding the moonboat\u00a0\u00a0 into long ago<\/p>\n<p>where a girl sits\u00a0\u00a0 in the dark\u00a0\u00a0 of her first blood<\/p>\n<p>bearing the chaos\u00a0\u00a0 creating the world\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0Ah Judy<\/p>\n<p>though we never met again\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 have we not come\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 full
